About My Practice

In my practice, some of the things I offer are trauma therapy, anxiety/depression treatment and fear and phobia release, helping individuals discover their inner power so they can transform their lives.

While I draw on mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy and attachment theory, when appropriate, my primary specialty is Somatic Experiencing®.  This innovative, body-centered approach helps clients experience a profound sense of safety in their bodies, empowering them to carry that safety into the world.

I also offer hypnotherapy, which can help address and release fears, phobias and intergenerational trauma, and self-actualization work, which can help you discover your life purpose or passion or, if you are interested, explore your own unique "spirituality."

As a therapist, I am dedicated to helping each client heal from the inside out. I offer a supportive, welcoming space for you to connect with your body, engage with the present moment and release the pain of your past.

What to Expect

Consultation: If you would like, I can connect with you over the phone. During this free, 15-minute phone consultation, we can get a sense of one another and determine whether or not we are a good fit. Then, because this is an ongoing therapy process, we can determine a consistent meeting time that works with your schedule.

I aim to respond to initial calls within 24 hours. Then, unless I have more immediate openings, you can expect to come in for your first session the following week.

First Session: First and foremost, I want to establish a therapeutic relationship built on trust and safety. During our first meeting, we will discuss your personal history, including what has brought you to therapy. I will only ask that you share as much as you are comfortable with. If you feel called to tell your story, I am here to listen, without judgment. If you feel unable to access your story, that’s okay too. It’s completely in your hands. The first session is 80 minutes long.

Then, if we have time, we can begin somatic therapy, including table work. To learn more about table work, please see my Somatic Experiencing® page.

Continuing Sessions: After the first session, table work will be an option every time, if appropriate. Most people find table work to be very grounding and centering, but if you feel unable to jump into table work for any particular reason, we will begin the session by grounding into the present moment. That way, you can release the tension of the day and work through pressing issues before working deeply in the body. As your therapist, I am here to adapt to your needs, whatever they may be.

Once grounding is established, we will address mental and physical patterns that may be keeping you stuck. As I help you gain awareness within your body, you can begin to make changes that break unhelpful patterns and provide new routes toward healing. These changes may bring up images, sensations and emotions that you don’t fully understand or feel comfortable with. That’s okay. You can move back and forth between feeling and investigating everything that’s arising for you. At every step, I will be attuned to you and your experience, continuously bringing you back to a place of safety so you can process and heal.

FAQS

Do you accept insurance?

No. I am not on any insurance panels. However, I can provide a super bill for your out-of-network insurance at your request.

How long are sessions?

We will generally meet for about 50 minutes. Because our first session will likely cover your history and table work, we'll meet for 80 minutes.

What methods of payment do you accept?

I take checks, cash or credit. Payment is due at time of service, and you may pay in advance if you prefer.

How many sessions do I need to see results?

10-15 sessions is the minimum recommendation for a specific traumatic event.

Complex trauma and attachment issues can take 1 - 3 years.

If you are aiming to resolve a phobia or otherwise tackle a single pressing issue, you can benefit from 3-6 sessions of Hypnotherapy. Sometimes, it is helpful to combine Somatic Experiencing with Hypnotherapy, especially if you are having trouble relaxing.

When do you offer sessions?

I offer sessions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, including evening sessions.

What is your cancellation policy?

I ask that you cancel at least 24-hours ahead of our planned session. Without 24-hour’s notice, you will be billed for the session.

How can I prepare for table work?

Simply come to sessions open to the possibility of positive transformation. Because, if we are doing table work, you will be lying down and receiving supportive touch (such as a hand on your kidneys or on your upper back) to guide your system toward regulation, I suggest that you wear comfortable clothing that does not constrict you. If you wish, you can lie under a blanket. I will only work over your clothes and at your own pace. Your sense of safety is my top priority.

How do I find your office?

My office is located at 800 Pollard Rd in Los Gatos, right across from the El Camino Hospital. There is a parking lot for your convenience. I am in Suite B-201.

How can I schedule a consultation?

I invite you to call 408-357-3736 for a free, 15-minute phone consultation. You can expect to hear back from me within 24 hours.

I look forward to hearing from you.
